INDUSTRY INITIATIVES > PACE OF PLAY

Pace of Play

Among the variety of challenges facing golf, the time required to play the game is frequently cited as a barrier to golf’s continued growth. In recognition of that concern, the World Golf Foundation has joined forces with other industry partners to make a positive difference in the golf industry’s approach to the pace of play issue.

It has been determined that the greatest short-term opportunity is in the arena of effective communications and education to operators and instructors at the facility level. Toward that end, World Golf Foundation will integrate its work with pace of play efforts currently being pursued by PGA of America, Club Managers Association of America and Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.

Among other activities, the pace of play initiative is reviewing industry best practices, seeking additional fresh insights into the issue, supporting efforts to develop effective marketing/education plans targeted to facility operators and instructors and surveying golfers for their feedback.

As specific recommendations and plans are finalized, relevant links and background information will be posted on this site.
